Ollie Garside

Fine Art and Documentary Photographer | Specializing in Large Format and 35mm Film format.

Living in Washington DC, I’m a former Australian Defence Force photographer and videographer turned fine art and documentary photographer. I specialize in black and white film photography using large format 4×5 and 35mm film to capture urban landscapes and community stories. My current projects include the ‘Landscapes of NoMa’ series and the ‘Little Street Library’ project, both shot on traditional film.

In addition to my fine art work, I provide event and corporate film (video) and photography services, staying current in the industry through my involvement with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

Fun facts: I was featured by Ferrania for my tulip-themed series shot on Ferrania P30 film (Ferrania Story). I develop my own film, experiment with film / developer combinations including x-ray film to achieve unique looks.  When I’m not behind the camera, my main job is pushing a stroller around Washington DC!
